UCF Completes Season Opening Sweep of Siena Baseball

Saints Shutout For Second Time in Three Games

For the second straight day, Central Florida produced a seven-run first inning to complete the season-opening series sweep of Siena Baseball 15-0 in seven innings in Orlando.
 
UCF (3-0) scored in each of their first five innings at bat, highlighted by the seven-run first and punctuated by a five-run fourth. The Knights registered nine hits and worked nine walks over six innings at the plate.
 
Siena (0-3) managed just two singles and four walks in being shutout for the second time in three games to open the season. Josh Thompson and Noah Brooks accounted for the Saints hits.
 
Camden Wicker allowed one hit over five shutout innings to earn the win for UCF.
 
After opening the season against a Big 12 opponent, the road gets no easier for Siena as they return to action next weekend against a top-flight Atlantic Coast Conference foe. The Saints open a three-game series against 21st ranked Wake Forest Friday at 4 p.m. in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
