FAIRFIELD, CT – Siena Basketball embarks upon a decisive final weekend of regular season action when the Saints face Fairfield Friday night at 7 p.m. at Leo D. Mahoney Arena

The "Voice of the Saints" Emmanuel Berbari and former Saint Conner Fenlon '12 will have the radio call of the game locally in the Capital Region on JAMZ 96.3 FM, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m.
 
Siena (19-10, 12-6) enters the final weekend of the regular season with much at stake. The Saints clinched a First Round bye in next week's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships with a pivotal victory over Saint Peter's Sunday, but can still finish anywhere from 2-6. Siena needs a weekend sweep coupled with one Peacocks defeat to clinch the No. 2 seed and an extra day of rest in between games next weekend.
 
But first a formidable foe in Fairfield (18-11, 10-8) stands in the way. The youthful Stags – led by the freshman frontcourt duo of Brandon Benjamin and Declan Wucherpfennig who have combined to capture nine MAAC Rookie of the Week honors – have won seven of nine since last month's setback against the Saints in Albany to position themselves in the thick of the race. Fairfield, which is 11-3 at home, enters play tied with Mount St. Mary's, whom they host in the regular season finale Sunday, for the sixth and final First Round bye.
 
Siena and Fairfield meet for the 85^th time in a series which the Saints have controlled to a 49-35 advantage. Siena has won 11 of the past 14 matchups overall, including six of the last seven in Connecticut, spanning three separate Stags home facilities. The Saints won the first meeting 85-77 on Jan. 19 in an historic effort in Albany. Siena shot 67.4% in the win – the program's highest mark in 45 years – while Gavin Doty set the school benchmark for most made field goals without a miss, going a perfect 9-9 from the field to punctuate a 24-point effort.
