The Siena Men's Tennis stayed hot and outlasted Sacred Heart 4-3 in Trumbull, CT on Saturday at the Trumbull Tennis Center to win their sixth match in the past seven.
The Saints (6-5, 2-0 MAAC) earned the clincher from
Emilio Zavala Salinas at the singles No. 5 position as the sophomore defeated Paul Goncalves 6-2, 6-4.
Sacred Heart dropped to 1-9 overall and 0-2 in the MAAC.
Siena also notched wins from
Sviatoslav Koliadynskyi and
Bruno Loch Varella at the number two and four positions.
Koliadynskyi and
Mars Argun topped the team of Goncalves and Connor Liona at the doubles No. 2 spot 6-3 while Loch Varella and
Mateja Stefanovic also won by the same score at the No. 3 position over Brennan Hart-Nova and Vayo Rodriguez to secure the doubles point.
Next up, Siena will travel to play at Merrimack (3-5, 1-1 MAAC) next Saturday, March 22 at a time to be determined.
