ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Siena Basketball begins its quest for a seventh Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament Championship when the third-seeded Saints take on No. 6 seed Mount St. Mary's in the MAAC Quarterfinals Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Siena (20-11) arrives in Atlantic City poised to make a run at the program's seventh MAAC title. Fresh off the first 20-win regular season in a decade, the Saints will look to translate their regular season road success to the boardwalk. Siena led all MAAC teams with 11 wins away from home this season, tied for third most in the program's 85-season history.

The Saints make their 37th MAAC Tournament appearance, having posted a solid 40-30 overall record including a stellar 21-11 mark in the quarterfinal round. Siena is 9-1 all-time vs. the No. 6 seed – its most wins vs. any seed – and is a remarkable 31-5 (.861) all-time in MAAC Tournament matchups as the higher-seeded team.

The Saints will look to reverse their recent fortunes however, both in March and in Atlantic City. Siena has dropped 16 of its last 18 games in the month of March dating back to 2021 – including 12 straight games away from home – and has lost its last five MAAC Tournament games, albeit all by two possessions or less and by an average of just 3.8 points.

The defending MAAC Tournament Champions, who captured their first league crown last season while also being seeded sixth, Mount St. Mary's (15-16) arrives in Atlantic City with momentum as they look to defend their crown. The Mount won five of their final six regular season games – four of which were by double figures – to secure the sixth and final MAAC Tournament Opening Round bye.

The fourth-year MAAC foes meet for just the 12th time and first time ever in postseason play. Siena leads the all-time series 8-3, including a 4-3 advantage since Mount joined the MAAC. The Saints captured the only regular season matchup between the programs on Jan. 11 in Emmitsburg, finishing on a 16-3 run over the final 5:21 to secure their largest margin of victory in a road game this season with a 67-50 triumph.
