Manhattan registered three runs in the first inning and pulled away with a five-run third to even the series with Siena Baseball with an 8-5 final in Pomona.
 
Trevor Hansen had three hits including a home run and knocked in three runs to lead Manhattan (12-19, 5-12). Andreaus Lewis added a two-run single to open the scoring in the first, with Hansen following up with an RBI base knock.
 
Siena (10-20, 6-11) got a pair back in the second, but the Jaspers responded with the decisive third inning in which they recorded five runs on the strength of five hits in the frame. Dylan Mayer followed a two-run Hansen blast with an RBI single, while Ryan Lordier wrapped the inning with a two-run double.
 
The Saints attempted to rally late with a three-run seventh featuring an RBI double from Nick Bergamotto and a two-run double off the bat of Noah Brooks, but couldn't get any closer. Siena matched Manhattan with 12 total hits, with four Saints tallying multi-hit efforts.
 
Ryan Taffe gave Siena a chance with five sensational shutout innings of relief, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out seven.   
 
The decisive rubber game of the series is set for Sunday at 11 a.m.
