Madeline De Faber-Schumacher were each honored by being named two of the best players in the conference this season with All-MAAC Third Team nods as voted on by the MAAC's head coaches, it was announced on Thursday by the conference office.
Loch Varella earned his first All-MAAC honor after being a two-time MAAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week in undefeated weeks against the likes of competition from Colgate, Holy Cross, and St. Bonaventure in February.
Overall, the Sao Paulo, Brazil naive was 14-7 in singles play in 2025-2026 including 9-3 from the singles No. 4 position and was 2-1 from the singles #3 position.
In individual doubles play, Loch Varella went 11-7 and saw his most success with playing partner
Mateja Stefanovic, whom the duo sported a 9-3 record together including 6-3 from the doubles No. 3 spot and 2-0 from the doubles No. 2 spot.
De Faber-Schumacher had a team-best 18-6 record in singles play and was 8-3 from the singles No. 5 position as well as a perfect 6-0 from the singles No. 6 spot. De Faber-Schumacher also picked up seven wins in individual doubles play and earned six of those doubles wins with playing partner
Manuela Gomez from the doubles No. 2 position.
The Phoenixville, PA native earned her second All-MAAC selection after earned a spot on the All-MAAC First Team in her freshman campaign. She finishes with the second most singles' wins in program history with 56 and is the all-time leader in wins from the singles No. 6 position with 25.
Seven Named to All-MAAC Academic Team
A total of seven Siena Tennis student athletes were named to the All-MAAC Academic team. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
The men's team was represented by
Bruno Loch Varella, a finance major, as well as sophomore
Emilio Zavala Salinas, also a finance major.
On the women's team, those who qualified were
Madeline De Faber-Schumacher (finance),
Manuela Gomez (marketing),
Reegan Mullaney (biology),
Zaara Omar (finance) and
Andrea Vargas (finance).
