Men's Lax Breaks Program’s Shots Record in 24-7 Romp at Iona

Saints Take Single-Game Record for Shots in a Game with 72

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Siena Men's Lacrosse broke the single-game program record for shots taken in a game with 72, had 15 different goal scorers and were perfect on clears as the Saints romped Iona on the road at Mazzella Field 24-7 on Saturday to extend its win streak to six straight.

In doing so, the Saints (9-2 overall, 5-0 MAAC) also moved into first place all alone in the MAAC standings as the lone remaining undefeated team in conference play with Sacred Heart dropping Saturday's game against Quinnipiac 16-14.
Siena's previous high for shots in a game was 65 against NJIT on April 13, 2019.

The 24 goals tied the most the Saints had scored in a game since April 23, 2025 when it put up that amount on the Red Foxes as part of a 24-9 win. The program record for goals scored is 26 when they did it on two occasions against Clarkson on April 30, 1981 and versus Hartwick on April 21, 1979.

Travis Fry had three goals and three assists, Caden Olmstead added three goals and two assists and Patrick Linton put in three goals and an assist as Siena packed on an eight-goal first quarter. Logan Banek was 12-of-14 on faceoffs with seven ground balls while Tyler Kuprianchik was 8-of-10 with six ground balls as the Saints' duo won on 83 percent of the face offs they took.

Iona dropped to 2-12 overall and 2-4 in the MAAC.

Fry opened the scoring at 14:05, marking his 15th goal of the season. Linton followed with a goal at 11:47, assisted by Olmstead, before Fry added another goal at 10:46. Siena's offensive momentum continued with Logan Banek scoring his second goal of the season at 10:40. Despite Iona's efforts, including goals by Jake Riglietti and Carson Turissini, the Saints maintained a strong lead. Additional goals from Colby LeBlanc, Olmstead, and another from Fry concluded the quarter with Siena leading 8–2.

Siena extended its lead with a five-goal surge in the second quarter, starting with Gavin Blenk's goal at 13:50, assisted by Fry. Nikolas Barbero followed quickly with an unassisted goal at 12:49, marking his fourth of the season. LeBlanc added another at 10:30, assisted once more by Fry. Iona managed to respond with goals by Kyle Hardie at 7:36 and Jimmy Kennedy at 3:19, narrowing the gap. However, R.J. Ihlefeld sealed the quarter for the Saints with a last-second goal at :05, bringing the score to 13–4 at the end of the quarter.

Siena dominated the third quarter, extending its lead with a series of decisive goals. After Iona's Kolbe Curtin scored a man-up goal at 13:04, Linton responded swiftly for Siena with a goal at 11:58. Conor Hufnagel furthered Siena's advantage with a goal assisted by Olmstead at 10:10. Blenk and Riley Hegarty added two more goals, with Hegarty's assisted by Caden Padelford. Iona's Lleyton Hall and Jimmy Kennedy managed to score, but Siena's Brandon Blenk and Olmstead, who scored on a man-up opportunity assisted by Fry, closed the quarter strong, resulting in a 19–7 lead for the Saints.

Siena secured a decisive 5–0 fourth quarter, expanding its lead over Iona. Olmstead initiated the scoring with a goal at 13:12, following a turnover caused by Olmstead himself. Siena's momentum continued as Caden Kramer capitalized on a turnover to score at 4:50. Shea Hogan added another goal shortly after, assisted by Barbero, during an extra-man opportunity. Michael Felicetti closed out the quarter with two consecutive goals, the second coming at :55, to finalize Siena's commanding 24–7 victory.

Siena will be back in action next Saturday when the Saints host Sacred Heart (10-1, 4-1 MAAC) in a showdown of top conference teams on Senior Day at 12 p.m. at Hickey Field in Loudonville, NY.
