Siena Basketball Signs DII National Champion Standout Pace Prosser

Smith Secures Massive First Newcomer For First Siena Roster

LOUDONVILLE, NY – New Siena Men's Basketball Head Coach Nevada Smith has officially announced the first newcomer to join his inaugural 2026-27 Saints roster. Division II All-American Pace Prosser, who led Gannon to the program's first-ever National Championship last month, is officially a Siena Saint.

"Pace is a winner," said Smith. "He is a hard-nosed, tough guard who is extremely skilled and plays with an infectious passion. Pace is the son of two coaches, and his IQ and leadership skills as a point guard will really push our ceiling to new heights. We are excited to add him to our group and watch him continue to grow and flourish as a Saint."

A 6-2, 200-pound rising junior point guard from Berlin, Pennsylvania, Prosser was a proven winner at Gannon, starting all 71 games spanning his two seasons with the Golden Knights while leading the program to a 61-10 (.859) record culminating in a DII National Title this spring. He amassed 1,172 points by the end of his sophomore campaign, while posting career averages of 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, and 2.1 assists. A complete all-around threat, Prosser made 153 threes (2.2 per game) on 36% shooting from distance, while also connecting at an 87% clip from the free throw line.

Prosser averaged 18.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and ranked 22nd nationally at the DII level in free throw percentage (.887) and 27th in steals (2.2) while guiding Gannon to a 34-3 record and the program's first-ever National Championship in April. The Elite Eight MVP, he posted a double-double while leading all scorers with 28 points and adding 11 rebounds in the National Championship Game win over Lander. A National Association of Basketball Coaches All-American, Bevo Francis Award Top-25 Watch List (top small college basketball player), Second Team D2CCA All-Atlantic Region selection, and All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division First Team honoree, Prosser posted 15 performances of 20 or more points including a career-high 30 vs. California (PA) in the DII Regional Semifinal, and also achieved 15 games with five or more assists.

Prosser first burst onto the scene as a freshman, averaging 14.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 2024-25. The PSAC Tournament MVP, he was a Second Team All-PSAC West honoree after scoring in double figures 26 times, highlighted by a pair of double-doubles.

Prosser previously starred for his father, Tanner Prosser, at Berlin Brothersvalley where he was a three-time All-State selection while scoring 2,281 points and averaging 25.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 3.1 steals, while leading the Mountaineers to 98 wins and four straight District 5 Class 1A crowns spanning his decorated high school career. A First Team All-State selection each of his final two years, he also earned Pennsylvania Sportswriters Class 1A Player of the Year honors after leading Berlin Brothersvalley to the PIAA Class 1A State Championship Game his senior season. A two-sport standout, Prosser was also a two-time Class 2A First Team All-State selection in football at defensive back.

In addition to playing for his father, Tanner, his sisters, Coral and Bryn, star for their mother, Rachel, who has led the Berlin Brothersvalley Girls' Basketball team to back-to-back PIAA Class 2A titles.

Prosser joins the Saints four scholarship returnees – Brendan Coyle, Reid Ducharme, Isaiah Henderson, and Owen Schlager – as well as incoming freshman Parrish Edmond, Jr., who recommitted last month, as Smith continues to build his first 2026-27 Siena roster.
