LOUDONVILLE, NY—Siena Athletics was well represented on the national stage as 15 student-athletes were named 2026 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars by
Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, with honorees representing five different athletic programs.
Among Siena's selections, junior water polo standout
Catherine Williamson was recognized as the Water Polo Sport Winner. Williamson becomes just the fourth student-athlete in Siena Water Polo history to earn Sport Winner distinction and marks the seventh time a Siena student-athlete has received the prestigious honor.
A marketing major carrying a perfect 4.0 GPA, Williamson earned CSC Academic All-District recognition for the second consecutive season following her second straight MAAC All-Academic Team honor.1 In the pool, the Grahamstown, South Africa native garnered First Team All-MAAC recognition after leading the conference in goals per game (3.5) and tying for the league lead in points per game (4.3).
Established in 1992 by
