LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena University Women's Basketball Head Coach Terry Primm has announced the addition of Imani Gordon to the Saints' coaching staff as an assistant coach.
 
Gordon brings more than a decade of experience in collegiate basketball as both a coach and student-athlete to Loudonville, most recently serving as the top assistant coach at the University of Evansville. During her time with the Purple Aces, Gordon helped the program reach the Missouri Valley Conference Championship game for the first time since 2009 and advance to the MVC Tournament semifinals as the first No. 10 seed in league history to reach the round. Evansville also earned its first MVC Tournament victory since 2017.
 
In addition to her on-court responsibilities at Evansville, Gordon played a key role in student-athlete development, academics, recruiting, scheduling, community engagement, and program operations. She led skill development for forwards, handled opponent scouting and game preparation, and worked closely with Athletics Student Services and faculty advisors to support student-athletes' progress toward their degrees. She also cultivated community partnerships, sponsorships, and NIL opportunities.

"She's been a player, a head coach, and a defensive coordinator, and she's driven her student athletes to athletic and academic success. I love how she thinks about campus community connection, developing people, and building programs. We're excited to have her on staff and look forward to seeing her impact."
 
Prior to Evansville, Gordon spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Northern Illinois University from 2023-25. She coached post players, conducted individual workouts, assisted with scouting and defensive development, and oversaw academic responsibilities for the program. During the fall 2023 semester, the program posted a 3.8 GPA, the highest in school and program history. Gordon also oversaw community engagement and community service opportunities.
 
Gordon previously served as the head women's basketball coach at Notre Dame College from 2021-23 after spending four seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with the program from 2017-21. As an assistant, she helped guide Notre Dame College to the first 20-win season in program history in 2017-18, its first Mountain East Conference Championship appearance, and its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2019-20. The program also established a school-record 26 wins during the 2019-20 season.
 
During her coaching tenure at Notre Dame College, Gordon was a two-time WBCA Thirty Under 30 honoree. She also served as the program's defensive coordinator, overseeing defensive adjustments based on scouting reports, while developing post players through individual workouts and summer training programs.
 
Before beginning her coaching career, Gordon was a standout student-athlete at Cleveland State University. The Akron, Ohio native was a four-year member of the Vikings from 2011-15 and finished her career among the top 10 in program history in points (1,323), rebounds (753), defensive rebounds (510), offensive rebounds (243), free throws made (400) and games started (94). She earned First Team All-Horizon League honors as a junior in 2014 and Second Team All-Horizon League recognition as a senior in 2015. Gordon was also voted a team captain and was named team MVP in both 2013-14 and 2014-15.
 
Gordon was part of Cleveland State's winningest senior class, helping the Vikings reach the WNIT in 2015. Following her playing career, she remained at Cleveland State as a graduate assistant from 2015-17, assisting with practices, individual drills and recruiting.

Gordon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with a minor in criminology from Cleveland State in 2015 before earning a Master of Education degree from Notre Dame College in 2021.
