Dear Siena Athletics Family,

I am thrilled to share our 2025-26 Siena University Athletics Annual Report with alumni, supporters, fans, and Saints across the Capital Region and beyond!

The 2025-26 academic year embodied the full range of emotions—from tragedy to triumph. Together, we mourned the loss of cherished members of our Siena Athletics family while celebrating remarkable accomplishments on the field, in the classroom, and throughout our community. Through every challenge, our Saints persevered with resilience, compassion, and unwavering pride, coming together in true Siena fashion to help us further our mission of Building Better Saints.

CHAMPIONS CROWNED: Siena celebrated two teams claiming titles in milestone seasons. Men's soccer captured its first-ever Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship and advanced to the program's first NCAA Tournament, battling to penalty kicks in its national debut. Men's basketball won three games in four days as the No. 3 seed in Atlantic City to capture its seventh MAAC Tournament Championship and earn the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance in 16 years.

RESILIENT SAINTS: In the face of adversity, our student athletes continued to inspire. Men's Lacrosse battled through injuries while honoring the legacy of Coach Liam Gleason with resilience and determination. Under third-year head coach Danielle Schwan-Tetreault, a youthful Women's Lacrosse team exceeded expectations by advancing to the MAAC Championship Game, laying the foundation for an exciting future.

INDIVIDUAL EXCELLENCE: Lucas Almeida and Gracie Goewey were named Siena's Male and Female Student Athletes of the Year following historic seasons. Almeida led Men's Soccer to its first conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance, while Goewey became the first MAAC Pitcher of the Year in Siena Softball history. Gavin Doty and Bennett Glinder each earned MAAC Tournament Most Valuable Player honors while leading their teams to conference championships.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: Our Saints continued to raise the standard in the classroom. A department-record 267 student athletes earned Metro Conference Academic Honor Roll recognition, while Siena Athletics established new all-time highs with a 3.46 cumulative student athlete GPA, a 3.56 GPA among female student athletes, a 3.34 GPA among male student athletes, and 82 members of the "4.0 Club." The Saints also achieved a 94% Graduation Success Rate—four points above the Division I national average—with 11 programs posting perfect 100% rates.

SAINTS LEAD: Our student athletes continued to make an impact far beyond competition. Swimming & diving's Carsyn Ide's "Run Like a Girl" initiative exemplified Siena's commitment to serving the Capital Region, while teammate GayLynn Kirn was selected as one of just three student athlete representatives from the MAAC to attend the NCAA Student Athlete Leadership Forum, reflecting the leadership and character that define Siena Athletics.

Developing a successful program that everyone can leverage to their benefit remains a strategic initiative in our athletic department's mission of Building Better Saints. Every championship, academic achievement, and life lesson experienced by our student athletes is made possible through your unwavering support.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Saints Alive! Shootout established a new fundraising record, raising a record $53,784 to directly benefit Siena University's more than 350 student athletes. Your generosity continues to provide our Saints with the resources needed to compete for championships, succeed in the classroom, and grow as leaders.
