Siena Men's Golf opened play at the UConn Invitational Sunday, carding a team score of 22-over par 310 at GreatHorse Golf Club to sit tied for eighth following the opening round.
Mick Madden led the Saints with a 3-over 75, placing him tied for 22nd individually.
Michael McConie followed with a 4-over 76 to sit tied for 25th, while
Gavin Crowley carded a 7-over 79.
Michael Broeker rounded out the scoring lineup with an 8-over 80.
Competing as an individual,
Evan Hogg also posted a 4-over 76 to finish tied for 25th.
Siena's 310 has the Saints tied with Lafayette in the team standings. Holy Cross sits seventh at 16-over 304, while Rhode Island leads the 14-team field at 6-over 294.
The Saints return to GreatHorse Monday for the second round of the three-day tournament.
