Siena Men's Golf wrapped up play at the UConn Invitational Tuesday afternoon at GreatHorse in Hampden, MA, finishing eighth with a 36-hole total of 603 (+27) after carding a second-round 293 (+5).
The tournament was shortened to 36 holes after persistent weather forced the cancellation of Monday's scheduled second round, making Tuesday's 18 holes the final round of the event. Siena responded with one of the top team scores of the day, posting the third-lowest score among the field.
Junior
Michael McConie led the Saints individually, tying for 15th with a two-round total of 149 (+5) after shooting a second-round 73 (+1).
Gavin Crowley posted Siena's lowest score of the final round with a 71 (-1), finishing tied for 21st at 150 (+6), while
Mick Madden also placed tied for 21st with a 150 (+6) following a second-round 75 (+3).
Michael Broeker rounded out Siena's team scoring with a 76 (+4) to finish tied for 59th with a 156 (+12).
Siena will return to action Saturday, Oct. 3, when the Saints open play at the Columbia Autumn Invitational at Lake Placid Golf Course in Lake Placid, NY.
