Biography
GENERAL:
- Preseason First Team All-MAAC selection
- Skilled big man who can finish around the basket with both hands
- Highly decorated local product who has improved immensely from his freshman to sophomore and sophomore to junior seasons
- Can disrupt game on defensive end of floor
- Transferred to Boston University in May of 2015. Re-enrolled at Siena in September of 2015.
2015-16:
- Second Team All-MAAC selection was also heralded as program's first-ever MAAC Defensive Player of the Year
- Tabbed the team's Doc Marcelle co-MVP
- Led the MAAC and ranked 38th nationally averaging 2.09 blocks per game, and 71 total blocks were third highest total in program single-season history
- Also led the MAAC with 113 offensive rebounds and ranked second in field goal percentage (.543) and 10th in rebounding (6.1) while adding 14.9 points per game
- Posted four 20-point performances and recorded first five career double-doubles
- Averaged team-high 18.9 points while shooting 58% from the floor in nine February games
- Scored season-high 31 points on 10-13 shooting vs. eventual MAAC Regular Season Champion Monmouth (2/1)
- Tallied 16 points and tied a program MAAC Tournament record with five blocks in quarterfinal victory over Manhattan (3/5)
2014-15:
- Scoring average jumped 480% and rebounding average increased 260% from freshman year
- Finished second in the MAAC in field goal percentage (54.6%) and second on the team with 4.8 rebounds per game
- One of four Saints to appear in all 31 games and one of two to start at least 28 games. Started the final 26 games of season.
- Reached double figures in 16 games (after not doing so once as a freshman)
- Scored career-high 18 points in home loss to MAAC Champion Manhattan (2/21) and grabbed career-high 11 rebounds in road loss to the Jaspers (1/30)
2013-14:
- Played in 30 games making four starts
- Missed five games in December after suffering ankle injury in St. Bonaventure win (11/19)
- Posted season-highs of seven points, six rebounds and 29 minutes in close loss at 2013 Sweet 16 participant LaSalle (11/16)
- Blocked 22 shots on the season
BEFORE SIENA:
- Averaged 18 points, 10.8 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game in leading Troy to Section II Championship and New York State semifinal appearance as a senior
- 2013 Albany Times Union Large School Player of the Year
- Three-time First Team Big 10 Section II Player of the Year
- Three-time News Channel 13 All-Star
- Three-time All-Area First Team
- Third Team All-State as a senior
PERSONAL:
- Son of Nick Ogunyemi and the late Thomasina Schultz
- Chose Siena because of its proximity to his home and the comfort level he felt with Coach Patsos after he took over program
- Was recruited by Temple, Clemson and Providence among others
- Has a younger brother, Quentin
