Biography

COACH ROSSI ON ST. CLAIRE:
  • “Evan is another thriving young player who will battle for playing time in the outfield. He has the tools, and all he needs to do is keep working. He has a real good upside.”
2021 (JUNIOR):
  • Named the MAAC Player of the Week on March 29
  • Started in 36 games with 111 at-bats
  • Led the team with a .360 batting average, while adding 40 hits, 28 runs, nine doubles, one triple, one home run, and 22 RBIs
  • Held a .486 slugging percentage and a .425 on-base percentage
  • Went a perfect 10-10 on the basepaths in stolen bases
  • Recorded 11 multi-hit and seven multi-RBI games
2020 (SOPHOMORE):
  • Played in 15 games with 14 starts
  • Batted .059 with two hits, two runs, and one RBI
  • Also pitched 5.1 innings with an 0-2 record and four strikeouts
2019 (FRESHMAN):
  • MAAC Academic Honor Roll member
  • Played in 40 games with 30 starts and 98 at-bats
  • Batted .153 with 15 hits, 14 runs, one triple and 15 RBI
  • Recorded two multi-hit games including a 4-6 performance with four runs and four RBIs against Niagara on May 11
  • Also pitched two innings with two strikeouts
BEFORE SIENA:
  • Named a Class D Second Team All-State and a First Team Adirondack League All-State selection his senior season
  • Guided Whitehall High School to the Section II Class D Semifinals his senior year
  • Batted .500 with a .564 on-base percentage, 27 RBI and 30 runs during his junior campaign
  • Played summer ball for the Barnstormers U-18 squad
  • Also played basketball in high school and as an All-Adirondack First Team selection
PERSONAL:
  • Son of Steven & Evelyn St. Claire
  • Has a sister - Hannah
  • Father was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 16th round of the 1984 MLB Draft and spent four seasons in the minor leagues
  • Uncle, Randy St. Claire, played professional baseball for five different teams from 1984-94 and was inducted into the Capital Region Baseball Hall of Fame in 2011
  • Grandfather, Ebba St. Claire, was an MLB catcher from 1951-54
  • Majoring in finance
  • Chose Siena because it was a great fit for him
