Graham Bousley, who spent the previous two seasons as an assistant on new head coach Jamion Christian’s staff at Mount St. Mary’s University, enters his first year as an assistant coach at Siena College. Bousley, who brings six years of collegiate experience with him to Loudonville, will serve as both the Saints’ recruiting and offensive coordinator as part of his official duties.

“Graham is a great offensive mind who has a strong understanding of the game,” said Christian upon Bousley’s appointment. “I’m excited and looking forward to sharing this opportunity with him.”

Bousley helped guide Mount St. Mary’s to 38 overall wins including a stellar 26-10 (.722) record in Northeast Conference action over his two seasons as an assistant coach under Christian. The Mount captured both the NEC Regular Season and Tournament Championships during his first season on staff in 2016-17, culminating with an NCAA Tournament appearance and First Four victory over New Orleans.

Bousley helped steer Mount St. Mary’s to an 18-14 overall record including a tied for second place finish in the NEC with a 12-6 league mark last season. He aided in the development of both NEC Player of the Year Junior Robinson and Defensive Player of the Year Chris Wray. Under Bousley’s offensive leadership, the Mount both led the NEC and ranked 19th nationally in made threes per game (10.1), and 49th in three-point field goal percentage (.379). The Mountaineers also led the conference in assists (14.0), and ranked 56th nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.27).

During Bousley’s first season on staff in 2016-17, the Mount posted a 20-16 overall record including a 14-4 mark in the NEC to capture the program’s first regular season title in 21 years. The Mountaineers finished the season strong, recording victories in 19 of their final 24 games, culminating with both NEC Regular Season and Tournament Championships as well as a First Four triumph over New Orleans in the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to his stint at Mount St. Mary’s, Bousley spent the previous two seasons from 2014-16 as the director of basketball operations at Rice University, where he coordinated team travel and meals, recruiting travel and visits, program budget, and all basketball camps. Bousley served under head coach Mike Rhoades, who he had worked with previously on the staff of Shaka Smart at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2012-14. Bousley entered the ranks as a graduate assistant coach at VCU, which amassed 53 wins and made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances during his two seasons on staff. At VCU, his primary duties were creating a video and analytical database for the team’s offensive actions, as well as helping develop and measure a metric called “Shot Quality” to help improve offensive efficiency.

Bousley is a 2012 graduate of the University of Wisconsin with degrees in biomedical engineering and history. He oversaw 19 fellow managers while serving as the head student manager for the men’s basketball team during his senior season for Bo Ryan’s Badgers. Wisconsin won 95 games and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of Bousley’s four seasons working with the program, highlighted by a pair of Sweet 16 appearances.

A native of Los Angeles, Bousley played his high school basketball at Campbell Hall, where he was a teammate of NBA stars Jrue and Justin Holiday. The Vikings posted a 91-7 (.929) overall record and won a pair of state championships over his three varsity seasons on the squad.
