Ryan Lanigan enters his second season as an assistant men's lacrosse coach for the 2026 season.
Lanigan served as the first head men's lacrosse coach of Russell Sage from 2019 through 2024.
Starting the program from scratch, Lanigan developed the program to become a competitive program--winning six games in each of the previous three seasons with the Gators.
The former All-American at Lebanon Valley coached long-stick midfielder Joe Johnson to high acclaim as he received an honorable mention for the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American Team and was voted on as a First-Team All-Empire 8 Conference member. Johnson was the first RSC men's lacrosse player to earn that distinction.
Across six seasons, 10 Gators earned All-Empire 8 Conference honors with additional academic accolades earned from College Sports Communicators (CSC), the Empire 8 Conference and Russell Sage College.
Prior to RSC, Lanigan spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Miscericordia University in Dallas, PA and helped guided the Cougars to the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2017 after a 7-0 mark in the Freedom Conference. Lanigan also spent a season an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for Assumption College, setting a program record with nine victories and qualifed for the Northeast-10 Conference playoffs for the second time in program history.
The 2014 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, Lanigan became the first USILA All-American in the program's history after garnering a spot on the Third Team as a senior long-stick midfielder. Lanigan holds the program record for most ground balls (356) and caused turnovers (208). The two-year captain of the squad occupies the top-four spots on the Dutchmen's single-season record book for caused turnovers.
