Field Hockey Falls at Quinnipiac

Braves' Senior Julie Smith (Brewster, Mass.) scored a pair of goals for the third consecutive game to lead the Quinnipiac field hockey team to a 5-2 win over Siena on Sunday afternoon.

Freshman Chelsea Osbrey (North Kingstown, R.I.) set up Smith for the first goal of the game just 5:17 into the contest. Heather Cady (Holliston, Mass.) then doubled the Braves' lead on a penalty stroke goal with 19:18 left in the frame. Smith then capped the first half scoring with a rebound goal to m ake it 3-0.

The Braves then put the game out of reach in the first two minutes of the second half. Freshman Kelly Proper (Red Hook, N.Y.) tipped in a feed from Kristin Crosby (Sandwich, Mass.) just 1:23 into the half. Then, just 24 seconds later, Crosby ripped a shot from the top of the circle that found the back o f the cage for a 5-0 advantage.

Siena responded with late goals from Ashley Smaldon and Lacee Iselo to make it a 5-2 final.
