(Loudonville, NY - April 2) The Siena Women's Tennis Team bounced back from Monday's loss to beat Sacred Heart University 5-2 on the Siena courts. The Saints #1 & #2 doubles teams posted victories to gain the doubles point. The #1 team of Nikki Mayer & Andrea Disponzio scored an 8-5 victory while the #2 team of Brooke Fisher & Betsy Brookins rolled over their opponents, 8-1.

Mayer, Siena's #1, singles player led the singles charge with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. She was followed by #2, Andrea Disponzio 6-4, 6-1, Vicki Dunham's 6-4, 6-2 win at #4 and Betsy Brookins' 6-3, 6-1 triumph at #6.

The highlight of the match was Disponzio's comeback after falling behind 4-0 in the 1st set. The Silent Assassin then went on a roll, winning the next 6 games to take the set. She didn't stop there. In the 2nd set she won 6 of 7 to take the match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.

The Saint's #4, Vicki Dunham gained her first victory of the season with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Tiffany Paul while #6 Brookins upped the spring record to 2-0 as she stopped Maria Aqudo, 6-3, 6-1.

The women go on the road Thursday when they travel to Baltimore, Maryland to face Loyola on Friday. They then move on to Jersey City where they meet Saint Peter's on Saturday before returning home for a match against Marist on April 9th.
