Junior Michelle Dorscheid (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) scored the game-winning goal with just over 17 minutes remaining in the contest as Siena (2-2/2-1 NEC) held off St. Francis College (0-7/0-3) in a Northeast Conference game played in Loretto, Pa. Saturday afternoon.
The Red Flash got on the board first as senior Christina Murphy scored on a penalty stroke eight minutes into the game. Just 25 seconds later, Siena's Lacee Iselo (Rome, N.Y./Holland Pattent) tied the score with a breakaway goal.
Erin Mead (Chestertown, N.Y./North Warren) broke the tie 10 minutes after the intermission with her first goal of the season for the Saints.
Saints Francis sophomore Maureen Lyy rounded out the scoring with a late goal off a Kate Arduni feed.
Siena goalie Kriten Heyde registered 14 saves in the win.
Siena returns to action at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County tomorrow afternoon.
