Field Hockey Completes Recruiting With Winslow Signing

June 23, 2004

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y - Emily Winslow has returned a National Letter of Intent to play field hockey at Siena beginning in the fall, according to Head Field Hockey Coach Lynda Lareau. Winslow comes to Loudonville after a distinguished career at Webster Scroeder High School where she excelled in a diverse assortment of extra-curricular activities.

"Emily is a tremendous field hockey player and an even better person," Lareau noted upon her signing. "We look forward to four terrific years and are excited to welcome in such a talented class this season."

Winslow was a First Team All-County selection in field hockey as a junior and senior and was honored as team MVP this past fall. A true student-athlete, she is vice president of the National Honor Society at Webster and was a member of the Jazz Choir as a junior and senior. An active member of the community, she also participated as a counselor for the Adopt-A-Fifth Sixth Grader program and as a volunteer for the Gift of Life Walk benefiting the National Kidney Foundation.

Winslow also represented the Western Region in the 2003 Empire State Games, and was honored with inclusion on the USFHA Futures Program this past season as well. In addition, she was an Honorable Mention selection at the 2003 East Coast Field Hockey Camp, and a participant in the sportsmanship conference at St. John Fisher College as a junior.
