Siena College senior third baseman Sarah Rose has been selected to the 2005 Northeast All-Region Softball First Team. Rose is the first Saint to be named to an All-Region team since classmate Carrie Getz was honored on the Second Team in 2003. Rose graduates as the school's all-time leader in homeruns (22) and RBI (118).
"This is a great and deserving honor," head coach Peejay Brun said. "Sarah had a sensational season and a great career at Siena. She worked hard at improving her game throughout her career, and this award marks the culmination of those efforts."
Rose (Loudon, N.H.) led the MAAC with a .407 batting average--the third highest in school history. She equaled her single season school record with seven homeruns, and crushed the school's previous RBI total with 46 this year (the most in the MAAC this year).
Rose was named First Team All-MAAC and MAAC Player of the Week twice this season. She batted .309 for her four-year career with 157 hits in 507 at bats.
