Final Stats

Lauren Remkus scored twice as Colgate jumped out to a 5-0 lead on its way to a 6-1 win over Siena in non-conference field hockey action Wednesday night in Hamilton. Senior captain Tricia Eldred scored Siena's only goal from the top of the circle following a penalty corner.

Freshmen Maddie Watrobski and Katie Joyce each recorded their first career goal for the Raiders, and classmate Lauren Carey registered her first collegiate assists.

Sophomore Lauren Remkus opened the scoring just 1:36 into the game when she picked up a rebound after a shot by senior Dana Shaner ricocheted off the post.

Watrobski got her goal when she converted a penalty corner with 24:35 on the clock. Carey served as the inserter, and sophomore Heather Davis was credited with an assist as the stopper. Watrobski and Remkus teamed up for Colgate's third goal 2:25 later. Watrobski deflected a rebound to Remkus who banged hit home for the first two-goal game of her career.

Freshman Laura Flisnik recorded her fourth goal of the season just under 15 minutes into the game when she took advantage of another shot that rebounded off the post.

Shaner scored her sixth goal of the year one minute into the second half off a penalty corner set up by Davis and Carey.

The Saints got on the board with 25:29 left in the game when Tricia Eldred converted a penalty corner that was inserted by Lori Barletta. Joyce deflected a rebound from Shaner off a rebound less than two minutes later to give Colgate the 6-1 win.

The Raiders outshot the Saints, 14-6, and held a 9-4 advantage in penalty corners. Colgate junior co-captain Jacque DeMarco played the first 36 minutes without seeing a shot before she was relieved by senior Carolyn Daly, who made one save. Siena goalie Jennifer Tesak finished with four saves.

Siena begins conference play Sunday at home against Robert Morris at noon.
