Siena Women's Tennis Takes Down Hartford 5-2

Taylor Barvoets, Jessica Ferrara, Lauren Garbade and Cassandra DelGatto each won their singles and doubles matches helping Siena to a 5-2 road win in Hartford Sunday afternoon. The Saints won despite playing without #1 Sarah Mayer.

DelGatto earned her first career victory, making her debut start at sixth singles. She defeated Jessica Ruggets 6-3, 6-1 and paired with Jessica Ferrara to win at third doubles 8-2.

Barvoets won at top singles 6-1 and 6-0, topping Racquel Casino. Barvoets and Lauren Garbade won their doubles match 8-1. Ferrara and Garbade won at fourth and fifth singles respectively.

"This was the kind of day that reminds you of why you become a coach," head coach Tim O'Brien said. The match marked the final dual match of the fall for Siena. Several Saints will compete in the ITA East Regionals this coming weekend in Hanover, N.H.
