Final Stats
Freshman Lauren Garbade earned a 7-6 (3) and 6-0 win at fifth singles in her first collegiate action, helping Siena to a 7-0 shutout of Rider Saturday in Loudonville. Loudonville's Taylor Barvoets snapped Caitlin Crawback's 20-match winning streak at second singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win.
"This was a great way for us to start the conference season," head coach Tim O'Brien said. "It was great to see Lauren win her match. She has a promising future with our program."
Sophomore Sarah Mayer defeated Caitlin Crawback 6-1 and 6-1 at top singles to lead Siena's charge. Other singles winners included Karina Davis and Julia Lebedev. Cassandra Del Gatto picked up a victory by default at sixth singles.
Siena swept the doubles play as well, with Barvoets and Lebedev earning an 8-2 win at first doubles and Mayer and Davis picking up an 8-3 win at second doubles.
