Loudonville, N.Y. - Freshman Katelynn Mannix (Beekmantown, N.Y./Beekmantown) led all Siena women's golfers shooting a two day score of 160 (+16) as the Saints captured second place at the Dartmouth Women's Invitational this weekend at the Hanover Country Club in Hanover, N.H.
Appearing in her first tournament at Siena, Mannix saved her best for last shooting a stellar 77 in the final leg of the two day event, placing her 12th individually, and best amongst all Siena participants. Amherst College's Hayley Milbourn won the individual title shooting a two over par score of 146 in the tournament.
Harvard University ran away with the competition, finishing 42 strokes better than the second place Saints in the fourteen team invitational. Siena's score of 69 over par was 11 strokes better than the third place competitor and host school Dartmouth.
In all, three Saints finished near the top of the final leader board. In addition to Mannix, senior's Bridget Erwin (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) and Melissa Agostinelli (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas) shot a 161 and 162 respectively, placing them among the top eighteen.
Following their first competition of the fall season, the Saints will be back in action again next weekend for the Princeton Invitational.
