Loudonville, N.Y. - Lock Haven's three first half goals proved to be enough as the Lady Eagles shutout Siena Field Hockey 3-0 this evening at Charlotte Smith Field in Lock Haven, Pa. Siena (1-6-0, 1-1-0 NEC) was held without a shot on goal in falling to .500 in conference competition.

Lock Haven (7-4-0, 3-0-0 NEC) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead just eleven minutes into the action as Megan Albert's rebound attempt found the back of the Siena cage.

The Lady Eagles would add two more goals late in the first half to pull away. Megan Bullock would add a tally off of a penalty corner in the 26th minute while Blair Wynne would notch Lock Haven's final score of the evening just three minutes later on a breakaway.

Lock Haven, the defending NEC Champions, dominated play on the offensive end of the field throughout the game. The Lady Eagles held a 29-1 edge in shots for the game, including a 12-0 shots on goal advantage.

The Saints however would finish strong in the second half. Despite allowing fifteen second half shots, Siena held Lock Haven scoreless as junior goalkeeper Jennifer Tesak (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) stood strong between the pipes. Tesak, who entered the game at the start of the second half, made four key saves to keep the Saints within striking distance.

"We're learning how to stay in games," remarked Head Coach Bill Davidson. "Despite getting down early we never put our heads down and I am happy with the way we fought throughout against a very tough team."

The Saints will look to move back above .500 in conference play when they return to action Sunday at noon at St. Francis (PA). Siena secured their most lopsided win of the 2006 season against the Red Flash, a 4-0 triumph in Schenectady.
