Final Stats
Bryant scored two goals in the final seven minutes to break a one all tie and defeat the Siena field hockey team 3-1 Friday evening in Smithfield, R.I. Freshman Kyla Dickson notched her first career goal in the defeat.
Dickson gave the Saints (3-12, 1-4) an early lead just over five minutes into the action. Following a penalty corner, Dickson blasted a shot that deflected off a Bulldogs (5-10, 2-4) defender into the cage.
Bryant would even the score late in the first half off a corner as well when Alexandra Czerniak took a feed from Julie Kuchyt. In an evenly played first half, Bryant held a slim 8-7 edge in shots and 5-4 advantage in short corners.
Both teams battled through the tie for the majority of the second half before Bryant struck for the game-winner late. With 7:04 remaining, Danielle Moody lit the lamp off yet another corner to give the Bulldogs a lead they would not relinquish.
Bryant added an insurance goal in the final 30 seconds to hand Siena its third straight loss.
Bryant out-shot Siena 19-11, although the Saints held an 11-9 edge in corners. Renee Clavette made seven saves in defeat, while Bryant goalie Kundayi Mawema stopped four shots in earning the victory.
