Final Stats
Clarence Jackson scored 24 points and Edwin Ubiles added 22 as Siena cruised to 4-0 in the MAAC with an authoritative 76-56 road win over Loyola (Md.) Monday night in Baltimore.
Leading 45-34 with 12:48 left, the Saints used an explosive 21-2 run to build a 30-point lead.
Siena scored 15 straight points to start the decisive run which began with consecutive threes from Jackson followed by a Ubiles breakaway dunk.
Jackson made 8-18 field goals and finished with seven of the Saints' 18 steals. Ubiles made 9-14 shots, including a breakaway tomahawk jam in the first half.
Loyola (Md.) was playing without leading scorer Brett Harvey, who sat out with an undisclosed injury. The Greyhounds struggled mightily on offense without him, making just 8-25 first half field goals.
Ronald Moore, the nation's leader in assists, had nine of his 11 helpers in the second half.
The Saints out-rebounded their opponent for the 10th time this season. Ryan Rossiter, Alex Franklin and Ubiles each grabbed eight boards.
Jamal Barney came off the bench to lead Loyola with 15 points on 7-15 shooting.
Head Coach Fran McCaffery subbed as freely as he has all season with mixed results. The Saints received strong play from several reserves until the final moments when McCaffery reinserted the starting five after Loyola used a 13-3 run to cut the lead to its final margin.
It was the fourth game in eight days for Siena which hosts rival Niagara Saturday at Times Union Center. It was also the 28th win in the Saints' last 30 games against MAAC schools - a streak that dates back to February of 2008.
