LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena women's golf senior captain Catherine Shomo has been named the MAAC Women's Golfer of the Month for September as announced Tuesday afternoon by conference headquarters. Shomo placed in the top-10 in all three of Siena's tournaments during the month.

A native of Rutland, Vt., Shomo shot all eight of her rounds during the month in the 70's. Her average round for the month was a miniscule 74.9.

Shomo finished tied for ninth at the Bucknell Invitational, tied for third at Dartmouth and fifth at the Yale Intercollegiate. Her most impressive performance came at Yale where she played despite an injury that almost forced her to miss the entire tournament. She still managed to shoot her lowest round of the fall with a 71 during the second round.

Shomo and the Saints return to the links Oct. 10 when they battle crosstown rival UAlbany.
