LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Nearly 1,500 local children from 10 Capital Region area schools will try and cheer the Saints to victory when Siena hosts UMass in a special 11 a.m. tip off Wednesday morning in the ARC. It's Siena's second annual "Kids' Day" game presented by Blue Shield of Northeastern New York and Gameday Central coverage begins at 10:30 a.m.
As part of this special event, all kids age 13 and under get into today's game FREE. There will be fun and educational games taking place throughout and Santa Claus himself will be making a special guest appearance, taking pictures with the children.
The game is part of Siena Men's and Women's Basketball's Adopt-A-School program. Both teams will be making visits to the schools on Jan. 11.
Siena (1-6) will look to ride the fan support to its second win of the season as it plays at the ARC for the final time in 2011. UMass (3-8) meanwhile got off to a slow start as well, but is riding a modest two-game winning streak entering today's matchup.
Today's game will be televised throughout New York State on Time Warner Cable Sports. Mike Demos, Jackie Craft and Ashley Miller have the call. Fans in the Empire State can use the chart on the right of this page to find out what channel the game will air on in their area.
