Loyola won five of six singles matches and swept the doubles play to post a 6-1 MAAC victory over Siena in Loudonville on Senior Day. Carly Holloway registered Siena's only point with a convincing 6-4 and 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.

Between doubles and singles competition, the Saints' senior class of Jennifer Messing and Jessica Asselin was recognized in a special Senior Day ceremony. Each senior was presented with a framed photograph commemorating their time with the program.

"Despite the loss, we competed really well," head coach Andy Christodoulou said. "The ladies are focused on competing with the top teams in the MAAC at this stage, and although we suffered two setbacks this week, we gained confidence that we will bring to the MAAC Championships."

Loyola won three hotly contested doubles matches to take control of the match.

"We put ourselves in position to win the doubles point, but couldn't get it done," Christodoulou said. "Against a team like Loyola, you're not going to get any free points, you have to earn them. I'd like to congratulate the seniors, and thank them for representing Siena in such a positive way throughout their careers."

The Saints conclude regular-season play at Fairfield Sunday.
