Siena Field Hockey takes the field this afternoon at 4 p.m. against Fairfield, hoping to capture their second straight home opener. Last year's initial outing at Siena Turf Field saw the Saints top Holy Cross 1-0 in their first-ever triumph over the Crusaders, and the Green and Gold will look for a similar effort today.
Siena's five wins against Fairfield tie for the program's most victories over a non-NEC opponent (the Saints also have five wins over UMBC). The Stags, though, have gotten off to a solid start this season, defeating St. Joseph's and hanging tough against #20 Drexel before dropping a 2-1 decision.
