Box Score
Siena's defense had kept the Green and Gold in their last two games, but not even the most saves all season by sophomore goalkeeper Beth Meyers was enough Saturday in a 6-0 loss at La Salle. The Saints were outshot 33-5 on the afternoon, with all but one Siena shot coming in the first half.
Meyers kept Siena's hopes alive by stopping 12 of 14 La Salle shots in the first half. She added seven more in the final 35 minutes for 19 on the day, but the Explorers tacked on four more goals in the second half to pull away for their second win of the season.
Sophomores Lindsay Mayo and Michaela Sullivan led the Saints with two shots apiece, with classmate Gabi Ferraro firing Siena's other lone attempt. Meanwhile, Neelam Kumar and Mariel Papa paced La Salle with two goals each.
Now 0-4 on the season, Siena returns home in search of their first win of the season on Wednesday against Colgate. Gametime is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Siena Turf Field.
