Box Score
Siena Field Hockey entered 2011 looking for the program's first road win in five years. It's still in search of that after Saturday, when the Saints fell 4-1 at Vermont.
Siena (0-9) was held to just four shots in 70 minutes, and just one in the first half. One of the team's two shots on goal, though, resulted in senior co-captain Sarah Szewczyk scoring her first goal of the season. She fired one in in the 54th minute off a pass from freshman Katherine Bowie, who notched her team-high second assist of the season.
Vermont (5-4) fired 30 shots, and Siena goalkeeper Beth Meyers stopped 13 shots in the losing effort. The Green and Gold go back on the road on Wednesday, facing Lehigh in a 4 p.m. tilt.
