Sacred Heart Downs Saints 6-1

Siena lost a non-league match at Sacred Heart late Saturday, dropping five of six singles matches and two of three doubles competitions. Freshman Cassandra Braz accounted for Siena;s only point with a 7-6 and 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.

"With both the man and the women playing the match did not finish until 11:00 p.m.," Siena coach Andy Christodoulou said. "I was very pleased with the overall team performance, and especially the two freshmen who got some tough match experience that will help us when we get in to MAAC play."

Siena lost tow three-set decisions. Ace Jasleen Sandhu lost to Gabi Kaldan 4-6, 6-1 and 6-2 at top singles, and freshman Jessica Macaluso lost 1-6, 6-1 and 10-7 to Delaney Downing at No. 5.

The Siena doubles team of Danielle Crill and Brittany Filip posted an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
