Women's Golf

Cruising to Columbus

April 30, 2012

Three years ago, the state of Ohio became home to one of the great moments in Siena sports history, when Ronald Moore's three-pointer propelled the Saints past Ohio State in the NCAA Tournament. Next week, Siena women's golf will look to add to the tradition when it competes in the NCAA Central Regional in Columbus on the campus of The Ohio State University.

The tournament is divided into three regions of 24 teams apiece. The Saints are one of just seven non-BCS conference schools in the Central Region, one headlined by SEC Champion Auburn and Big East Champion South Florida. Play begins on May 10.

The Saints punched their tickets to their first-ever NCAA Tournament by winning their 12th consecutive MAAC Championship last weekend in Orlando, Fla. The Green and Gold dominated the event, winning by 53 shots and boasting four top-five finishers, including individual medalist Victoria Nguyen.
