Field Hockey Falls 4-1 to Pacific

Final Stats

The Siena field hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision against the Pacific Tigers at the University of New Hampshire on Thursday. With the loss the Saints fall to 0-3 on the season while the Tigers improve to 3-3.

The Tigers struck first when Emily Tregoning took advantage of a penalty shot six minutes into the game and touched net for the third time this season. Pacific would add three more goals in the half to take a 3-0 advantage going into halftime.

After allowing their fourth goal of the game, the Saints found some rhythm. Cory dela Gorgendiere got Siena on the board with her first goal of the year. The score came off of a corner by Theresa Tremblay who was credited with the assist.

In total, the Saints attempted four shots, all in the second half, while surrendering 19 Pacific attempts. Beth Meyers finished the contest with five saves while Lindsey Mayo racked up two defensive saves as well. Siena will continue their road swing as they take on St. Joseph on Sunday Sept. 16, the game is scheduled for a noon start.
