Complete Results

The Siena swimming and diving team ended their regular season dropping two decisions in a tri-meet at Saint Francis (Pa.). The Saints lost to the host Red Flash (160-96) and fell to the Highlanders (136-121).

Four different Saints (8-8-1) finished in the top-three in their respective events on the day. Senior Kaela Bjornberg led the way with three top-three finishes. Bjornberg had two second place finishes, in the 100 breast (1:11.08), two seconds behind Cat Rogers who was the winner. She also finished runner-up in the 200 IM (2:17.85). Bjornberg would also finish third in the 200 breast (2:32.33).

Amanda York also had an impressive meet, finishing in the top-three in a couple of events. She finished second in the 200 fly (2:15.23) and third in the 100 fly (1:02.66).

For the second straight meet, Megan Grace was Siena's top finisher in the 1000 free, finishing second with a time of 10:52.49.

Emily Carideo also helped put the points on the board for the Saints. She finished third in the 200 IM (2:18.18), fourth in the 200 fly (2:16.11), and fifth in the 100 fly (1:02.84).

Other notable finishers for Siena include Jacque Medina finishing fourth in the 200 free (2:00.26), fifth in the 500 free (5:22.83), and sixth in the 100 free (56.94).

Katherine Canavan was the Saints top finisher in the 100 back (1:03.90) and 200 back (2:17.92) to finish sixth in both.

Saint Francis (Pa.) (7-3), which has not lost a home meet in three years, won all but three events on the day, and have now won three straight against the Saints.

With the two losses, Siena failed to finish with more wins than losses in their record for the first time since the 2006-07 season, when they went 3-6.

The Saints have closed the regular season portion of their schedule and will head to the MAAC Championships which will be held Feb 14-16, in Buffalo, N.Y. Siena was picked to finish sixth in the preseason poll, and look to improve on their seventh place finish a year ago. The best finish for the Green and Gold was a second place showing in 2002-03.
