Loyola Edges Women's Tennis 5-2

Loyola won two tight matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles and that proved to be the difference in a 5-2 win over Siena Saturday in Schenectady. The Saints will honor seniors Brittany Filip and Elora Benfer prior to Saturday's 10 a.m. match with St. Francis (Pa.) at Central Park.

Freshmen Allysa Singh and Maria Varano continued their strong rookie campaigns with straight set wins and No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

Singh teamed with sophomore Carly Holloway for an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles.

Cassandra Braz lost a tough 0-6, 6-0 and 7-5 match at No. 6 singles. Loyola won the top three singles spots in straight sets.
