Oct. 1, 2014 Final Stats
Junior goalie Mary Drabich recorded a career high 16 saves today, as the Siena Field Hockey Team fell to #10 UAlbany 9-0. Albany is the first ranked opponent Siena has faced since 2011.
The Great Danes (8-2) came into the game sporting a number 10 ranking after moving two spots up in the latest NFHCA poll. Midfielder Anna Bottino scored Albany's first two goals as they would go on to score five in the first half.
The Saints (0-9) attempted three shots in the second half led by Seniors Megan Bohse and Gabrielle Sullivan who both attempted shots in the 64th minute. Junior Kate Gillespie attempted a shot in the 65th minute that would prove to be the Saints' last of the game. Siena drew three penalty corners on the afternoon, but was unable to turn them into scores.
Drabich's 16 saves topped her season high of seven against St. Francis (Pa.) Her previous career high of 11 came last September in a 2-1 loss to Davidson.
The Saints play their final non-conference game Sunday, when they travel to Providence, R.I. to take on Brown at 2 pm.
