Junior diver Hailey Beers finished fifth in the 3-meter dive and sixth in the 1-meter drive, highlighting an otherwise tough day for the Siena Swimming and Diving team. The Saints finished the New England Catholic Invite seventh of the eight teams participating.
Beers, Siena's top returning diver, scored a 182.65 on the 3-meter and a 174.80 on the 1-meter, picking up 12 points for the Saints in the process. Junior Emily Carideo earned the Saints only other top-five finish on the day, finishing fifth in the 400-yard IM after swimming a 4:54.00.
Eight Saints picked up points for the team on the second day, as they finished the Invite with 171 points. The Saints top relay finish of the day came when the team of Jacque Medina, Megan Grace, Colleen McDonough and Shannon Love finished seventh in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay after swimming a 3:49.70.
Host Boston College won the invite scoring twice as many points as any other school competing. The Saints jump back in the pool Wednesday October 22, when they host Holy Cross at 7pm in the Siena Swim Center.
