Late Flurry Sinks Saints

Final Stats

Two late Colgate goals ended Siena Field Hockey's comeback attempt as the Raiders won 5-2. Senior Megan Bohse scored twice for the Saints, both in the second half.

A Jessica Gardiner goal in the 2nd minute would be the only goal of the half for either team, as goalie Mary Drabich would record six first half saves for the Saints. The Saints would take six shots in the first half, en route to 12 shots for the game, tying their highest total of the season.

Bohse would open the scoring in the second half, striking home a Brittany Onesto pass just 40 seconds into the second half. Colgate would retake the lead in the 38th minute, and pushed the lead to 3-1 in the 43rd.

Bohse struck gold again in the 65th minute when she deflected a Kate Gillespie shot into the net to cut Colgate's lead to one. But two Eliana Brown goals in the 68th minute would push the lead to an unreachable margin and Colgate would win 5-2.

The Saints play their final two regular season games next week, starting with a contest at Monmouth October 31st at 3 pm.
