Nov. 6, 2014 The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced the 2014 Field Hockey All-Academic team today. Eight members of the Siena field hockey team earned All-Academic Honors.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
Seniors Megan Bohse (Psychology), Katherine Bowie (Religion), Theresa Tremblay (Economics) and Callie Weise (English) led the list of Saints. Siena Field Hockey won their last game of the season 2-0 over first place Rider and Weise picked up the last Defensive Player of the Week of the season for her efforts against Monmouth and Rider.
Juniors Sage Stebbins (Undeclared Business) and Katie Wells (Biology) were also All-Academic recipients based on their academic efforts during their junior season.
Sophomores Maggie Liguori (Undeclared Arts) and Brittany Onesto (Biology) rounded out the Saints award recipients.
A total of 49 student-athletes comprised the 2014 MAAC Field Hockey All-Academic Team. Sacred Heart led all MAAC schools with 11 student-athletes. Quinnipiac finished second with nine, while Monmouth and Siena both had eight each. Bryant and Rider rounded out the list with 7 and 6 student-athletes, respectively.
