Siena Swimming and Diving finished the ECAC Championships third, sliding one spot in the final day of competition. Senior Jacque Medina swam a season-best time in the 500 free, good for second place in the event.
The Saints picked up another third place relay finish to start the day off, this time in the 400 medley relay when Fiona Dretzka, Kelsey Helin, Amanda York and Shannon Love swam a 4:00.83. Medina then followed that, swimming a 5:10.01 in the 500 free, the best finish for the Saints on the day.
Love would pick up the next best finish of the day for Siena swimming a 24.68 in the 50 free. In the 200 IM Emily Carideo and Dretzka finished 7th and 8th to lead the Saints.
Siena would close out the Championships with a third place finish in the 400 free relay when Medina, Grace, Maggie Fletcher and Love swam a 3:37.77.
The Saints finished behind Stevens Institute of Technology, whom they led going into the day. New York University took the team crown, after leading all three days of the Championships.
This is the second year the Saints have finished third in the Championships. They will have a month off until their next meet, when they host LIU Post Saturday, January 17th at 1 p.m.
