The 2014 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships concluded on Sunday evening in Buffalo, N.Y. The Saints competed in six events on the final day, earning fifth place with 376.0 points during the three days of meets.
"It was a great weekend, we swam really well," said coach Paul Kueterman. "We had many personal best times and dives. I'm extremely proud of the team."
Junior Amanda York tied the team's best finish in today's 200-yard Butterfly event. York finished fourth with a time of 2:08.68, improving on her season best time by 2.58. Emily Carideo finished 12th in the 200-yard Butterfly, beating her season best time by 3.50, finishing with a time of 2:11.36.
Dory Miller and Emily Hovey finished back-to-back in the 200-yard backstroke. Miller finished sixth, with a time of 2:10.70, followed closely by Hovey, finishing seventh with a time of 2:10.82.
Kelsey Helin earned her second top-10 finish this weekend after completing the 200-yard Breaststroke in sixth with a time of 2:26.10.
Shannon Love earned her sixth top-10 finish at the MAAC Championships with an eighth place finish in the 100-yard Free event. Love completed the event with a time of 0:53.62. Love also finished sixth, as a member of the 400-yard Free Relay team with Jacque Medina, Dana Tricarico and Maggie Fletcher. The relay team finished with a final time of 3:35.01.
Hailey Beers and Kate Ackert competed on the one-meter boards on the final day of the Championships. Beers finished 11th with a final score of 192.0. Ackert finished with a score of 136.80, good for sixteenth place.
The Marist Red Foxes won the women's MAAC Championship for the 15th time in the last 18 years, with a total score of 801.0.
