The swimming and diving team is currently in sixth place with 248.0 points after the second day of the MAAC Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. Emily Carideo and Kelsey Helin were today's top finishers for the Saints.

"The Team is swimming well. We have put together two very strong days," said coach Paul Kueterman. "I am proud of them and their accomplishments, I look forward to Saturday."

In Day two, the Saints participated in seven events, starting with the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Kat Canavan, Kelsey Helin, Amanda York and Shannon Love finished the relay in sixth place with a final time of 1:49.38, nearly a one second improvement on their season best time.

Emily Carideo and Kesley Helin were the top Saints' finishers in today's individual events. Carideo finished fourth in the 400-yard IM in 4:38.09. Helin participated in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing fourth with a final time of 1:06.57.

The relay team of Jacque Medina, Amanda York, Emily Carideo and Maggie Fletcher earned a top-5 finish in the 800-yard free relay, completed the event in 7:47.16.

In the fourth event of the day, Maggie Fletcher finished sixth in the 200-yard free. Fletcher recorded a season best time of 1:55.83. Fletcher was the tops Saints' finisher in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing eleventh with a time of 0.59.46.

Captain Amanda York continued to perform well in the butterfly events this season, earning a top-10 individual finish in the 100-yard butterfly, with a time of 0:59.32.

The 2014 MAAC swimming and diving championships continue tomorrow February 15^th for the final day at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center at Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y.
