Siena Men's Golf rode a strong second round performance to move into a tie for eighth place after day one of the Colgate Invitational in Hamilton, N.Y. Spencer Sautin led all Saints golfers, shooting a 151 on the day.

In a second round that saw rain throughout, all five Saints golfers equaled or lowered their score from the first round. Sautin, Jim Sullivan, and Scott Kim all finished in the top 40 on the day, with Sautin finishing the day tied for 13th, eight strokes behind the leader. Sullivan and Kim both had four birdies on the day, leading all Saints golfers.

The Saints shot a 626 on the day, including a 306 second round, which helped move them from 12th to eighth place. Siena is tied with fellow MAAC member Canisius. Other MAAC participants include Rider and Niagara, who are in 13th and 14th place, respectively.

"I think the guys got the cobwebs out," said head coach Tom Wronowski when speaking on the team's improvement over the rounds.

The Saints will look to continue their rise up the leaderboard tomorrow morning. Shotgun tee times are set at 8:30 am.
