In a battle of unbeaten MAAC teams, Quinnipiac topped Siena Field Hockey 4-2 in Hamden, Conn. Ashley Dona and Maggie Liguori scored goals for the Saints. Liguori's goal was her first tally of the season. Mary Drabich made 11 saves in between the pipes for Siena.
The Bobcats outshot the Saints while also holding an edge in corners on the afternoon. Siena won the save category, edging Quinnipiac 11-1.
Quinnipiac would strike first in the contest when Savanna Reilly received a pass from Megan McCollough and she found the back of the net to put the Bobcats in front.
The Saints responded nearly three minutes later when Liguori scored her first goal of the season and the second of her career.
Just four minutes before the half, Quinnipiac would break the tie when Felicia Costanzo recorded her fifth goal of the season on a pass from McCollough.
In the back in forth contest, Siena answered the call with a goal from Dona to tie the game at two (41') assisted by Fabiana Citro.
With the game then tied 2-2, the Bobcats added two goals to pull away from the Saints. Costanzo scored her second tally of the game on an assist from McCollough (41') and the Dayna Barlow added an insurance tally (51') to increase the margin to two.
Siena (3-10, 2-1) looks to bounce back Sun. Oct. 25 when they travel to face Fairfield at 1 p.m.
