Feb. 13, 2015 Day Three Results

A balanced team effort saw the Siena Swimming and Diving team hold fifth place after day three of the MAAC Championships. The team put together it's strongest showing of the day in the 100 breast, where four swimmers picked up points for the Saints.
The Saints scored 145 points Friday, including 46 in the 100 breast alone. Freshman Erica Askew led the way with a third place finish swimming a 1:06.48. Kelsey Helin, Lauren Daly and Shannon Love finished sixth, eighth and 11th, respectively, to round out the scoring for that event.
The 400 medley relay team of Fiona Dretzka, Askew, Amanda York and Love, swam a 3:59.45, good for sixth place, in the lone relay event of the day.
Emily Carideo continued her strong championship performance swimming a 4:37.10 in the 400 IM and earning a seventh place finish in that event. York was also able to secure a seventh place finish in the 100 fly, swimming a 59.07 in the finals.
Jacque Medina's eighth place finish in the 200 free was the next best performance of the day for the Saints.
Hailey Beers and Michelle Swanson finished 10th and 14th in the 3 meter dives, respectively, finishing out their portion of the 2015 Championships.
The Saint's 276 points places them in fifth place, only fifteen points behind fourth place Saint Peter's. Five time defending champion Marist has built a comfortable lead with 609 points heading into the final day of competition.
The last day of the 2015 MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. with the preliminary rounds of the women's 200 back. The championships will conclude Saturday night with the presentation of the Men's & Women's most outstanding performers, coaches of the year and MAAC Championship team awards.
